Some people have good weather and nearby sea all year around. :) Today 
(our 13th wedding anniversary BTW) we had lunch outside at the Valletta 
Waterfront, looking out over Grand Harbour and the Three Cities (and a 
large freighter that transported yachts).

The Mediterranean basin in summer is a nice place, but can be wickedly 
hot. Plus, if you want to jam, moving equipment is going to be a hassle, 
and you'd need some local firm to rent the amplification from. Without a 
local there, it's going to be a logistical challenge.

Another consideration is that most Music Barians live in the Euro zone, 
and going to a place like Croatia means having to deal with foreign 
currency.

So yeah, even though you can expect a lot of rain in the Netherlands 
this summer (which seems to be becoming to norm), it has its advantages.
