ethereum's scalability remains a bit on the experimental side.
the contracts stuff is (apparently) brilliant.

probably none of this will be around in ten years, or it will
be in name, with completely different engineering

smart contracts and autonomous agents is gonna change everything,
but sidechains is probably a better place to start (it includes
some of that stuff, as the mechanism)
