Thanks Tony. that's a great tool -- it was a bit too complex for what I wanted to do there and then. I realized after you wrote that I already had it, but had never really learned it.

I settled with "Samples" for the task -- I just needed to sample a riff, then play it back instantly -- the free version doesn't even loop, but it's free and has no ads..;)

I will learn "Samplr" for future uses. it seems like a great and versatile app.
