Honestly, not as much as one would think, but you can start moving in a direction. You can definitely make a system, but it will be limited. It depends what you are looking for, normal synth, weird synth, effects, etc... 

Skip the case, just make something with rails/tip top power and scout the muffwiggler.com buy forum, usually 20% off and people on there usually take care of the gear/haven't had it for long.
