It's the emulation I'm guessing, more ear pleasing harmonics, etc… When I saw people a bit ago talking about the default reason sound as being better than other daws, I was a big confused as it used to be the opposite. These young kids will never know the pains of past digital audio.

The opposite of minimal, clean swedish design. Can't fault them really, over time they just broke down to adding everything people wanted I guess. Better than being ableton and not letting you separate the damn mixer window, I have succumbed to taking the mix into logic from now on.
