That's interesting. Especially the bit about how AAC has gotten much better. As with re-encoding files, I guess it would be worth it to re-download any songs you have bought and downloaded from iTunes in years past.

It might be cool if apple set up a music store system for indie musicians similar to the system for developers. I know it would bring a lot of hate but it's interesting to think about.
