I was talking about the VS mainly, not the PPG.  The VS does have a complex
envelope generator with looping etc.  It also has a special envelope
dedicated to the joystick which is the real magic.  Check out section 8 of
the VS manual for more info:

You should definitely put these in the Aurora! ;)  These two envelopes more
than anything are responsible for the VS sound capabilities.  I tended to
use the joystick envelope more than using the joystick in real-time but it
was a nice performance tool.

 The PPG doesn't have complex looping ADSRs, sorry. in fact it has a
standard ADSR for VCF and VCA and a single AD EG for a 3rd EG (pitch).



 I'd be interested to see the LFO routing options, yes the joystick was
good, but if you can do the same with an LFO or an ADSR then it's not a big
loss IMHO. I suspect Dave avoided the joystick on purpose so people
wouldn't compare it to the VS.

I gotta say, I don't see a lot of difference between the Prophet 12 and the
VS.

4 oscillators, digital waves, analogue VCF/VCA, tonne of LFOs and
modulation options.



so I'd see the Prophet 12 as a VS with extras.
