Easy - the included sample libraries in any software package (Reason 7 and Live in particular). They are good enough to be used, but they always contain some fatal flaw that makes you think to go searching for expansion packs.
Waldorf does this with the Blofeld sound libraries as well. They are 'free', but only if you already bought the SL license, which you don't find out until you are trying to check out of their site (you still have to 'buy' the free packs, even though they cost nothing).
