Inventor question

Anyone using inventor?
I found out today that my Chinese colleagues use an older version of 
inventor and apparently they re-draw our drawings as they can't open 
newer versions.
Autodesk direct me to their resellers, but they only want to sell new 
licenses...
Now, I'm wondering how to cope with this situation. Saving in an older 
version is apparently not possible... And downgrading is no option either...
Any help or pointers appreciated.
