Yes,

That's exactly how it works.
Point the camera to the sky and you see the call signs of passing planes.
Touch one of them and you get the details like type, speed, altitude,
picture, distance from and to airports etc.
Initial screen is just an average map with planes.
Touch the radar icon and you're in AR.
