Yep.

When I was borrowing the 501, I did some recordings with it.  I
noticed that the recordings were missing something and didn't sound
'right' after recording.  I finally got the idea to record the machine
noise loop it under the track.  It sounded great!

I lost my recordings of the 501. I need to get one at some point.
