Im not really very pro-softsynths as generally speaking, they don't suit my
work flow.  BUT, Maschine does not feel like a softsynth.  You could
literally hide your computer and then demo "your new drum machine" to
someone and, presuming they knew nothing about Maschine, they would not
doubt you when you says it's a stand alone MPC-esque drum machine..

Really??  So far I don't recall reading many good things about Beat Thang.
Defo lookup all the reviews if you are considering it..
