VCA question

Hello all,

Kind of quiet lately...

I'm working on a VCA for a drum synth I'm currently building.
Here's my question, is a vca for a drum sound linear or logarithmic?
I would test it on my modular, but it seems like all my vca's are linear...

FWIW it's a high hat module I'm working on, maybe it is different for 
other sounds.

As always, all tips appreciated.

Anyone having a clangora? Thinking of building one of these to see how 
it compares to the thing I'm building. Only a shame it uses 3 extinct 
IC's. Luckily I have those on stock ;-)
