Thinking about modulars

Tony,

 Thanks for the info, and yeah I know how addictive it can be, I used to
have a modular, actually I've had two in the past.

  It just dawned on me, I have a 6U euro rack chassis (rescued from a
dumpster at a previous employer) which I could use. though I really like
the size of the tiptopaudio "happy ending" rack.
  Can you (or anyone) tell me how deep your deepest euro module is? or is
there's a limit of some sort? I'm thinking I could cut the sides on my down
to "tilt" it. I also have a power supply (same as the monowave, +12v @ 1A,
-12v @1A and +5v @ 3A so that's sorted.

  Upon further investigation of my "random parts bin" I have the following;
three Hearn Morley VCO modules (

two VC-ADSR modules (

a dual VCA module (
https://sites.google.com/site/hearnmorley/products/hmvca1b)
and one of his SSM2040 clone modules (
https://sites.google.com/site/hearnmorley/products/hm2040) so I could in
theory build my own modules.

  I've also got a couple of Tom Wiltshires VCLFO chips (
http://www.electricdruid.net/index.php?page=projects.lfo9) and a couple of
his VCADSRs (http://www.electricdruid.net/index.php?page=projects.envgen7).

  So I could build it all myself, thing is I don't want this for making
music, I want it for developing modules and testing ideas/concepts I have.
I got the modules above to build a programmable monosynth, so I wouldn't
use all three VCOs, nor all the VCADSRs/VCLFOs I have. So there's a side of
me that says "buy it so you can focus on dev/test" but there's the other
side that says "save the money and build it yourself"

  Argh, too many ideas and not enough time.
