Thinking about modulars

So, I'm thinking about getting a very simple/small (and cheap) modular
system for tinkering with ideas and concepts.
And I'm looking for some advice,
Euro-rack is my preferred choice as it's small.

I'll need the following;

1 x Rack (3U/84HE will be enough for now)
1 x Power Supply (I know nothing about what these are, I assume +/-12v)
1 x Power distribution (again, what kind?)
1 x VCO (1v/oct) nothing fancy, I want it for testing/scaling
1 x VCF again, needn't be flash 2 or 4 pole LPF
1 x VCA (linear)

That's it, everything else I need (ADSRs/LFOs/MIDI2CV/etc) I have or can
make quickly enough.

So, where and what do I start with?
