> How do you find Redmine? Our (software development) section at work doesn't have any kind of management software (other than Subversion and Microsoft Project, or perhaps Sharepoint if you want to be charitable) and we really need one. I've decided to take this on me, so any recommendations are welcome.


Redmine is great, but you have to really use the hell out of it before you get the benefits .. create custom Issue statuses for your needs, make everyone add every little last issue to each project, add the RedmineCRM plugin for contact-management, etc.  Its a great system, but if you expect it to just work without some effort, you won't get much out of it.
