There's a shitty jumper setting for that under the thing.

You can also tweak the capacitance by plugging in different resistors in the box. I followed the manufactors recommendation but they may have misled me. Well, anyway it seems to be a problem with the  preamp as I plugged in a different model/brand the shop lent me for comparison, and everything is suddenly a-ok. 
I'll try changing the capacitance settings in the first one, but maybe it simply is faulty.

I had a look in the first preamp "user manual". There's a warning in red : "If you use a mobile phone, the music reproduction can be influenced!". Understatement of the year.
