Schnapps and Chilli sauce ..

Well, I've just spent the afternoon making schnapps (finishing it - i.e. putting the mash results in bottles for storage/delivery) and chilli sauce - all based on stuff from our garden this year.  

The schnapps is a special recipe that I've heard about, but this is my first actual schnapps-making .. can't wait to try it out!  A secret mix of ingredients to make the winter months warmer.

The chilli-sauce - holy crap, I was on the edge of chilli psychosis just chopping up our chillies.  They are immensely powerful, and the cooking vapors nearly overpowered me.  Ended up improvising a little, got maybe a bit thicker than I'd hoped, but I ran out of vinegar, alas .. gonna be an interesting thing to dish out to the Limberk boys this Christmas.  I tried it already and am busting at the seams.  Best chilli sauce I've ever tasted! :)

Man, what a satisfying way to end the gardening season.. anyone else doing something like that these days?
