Heh, yeah, that's totally on my list of things to build when I get a 
spare weekend.  Probably pretty simple with a 12v in-car amp.

I have seen some similar boomboxes built into bicycle trailers for 
street parties and protests, and they usually do sound pretty decent 
(and loud).

The suitcase idea is awesome!
