I think doing stuff together with others is highly overrated.

As a student in a band in the 80's I always wanted to have the 
opportunity to have a studio for myself (I liked Mike "Tubular 
Bells" Oldfield). When it finally happened, I couldn't have been 
be more happy (and I still am). It takes a lot of patience 
working together with others and having to compromise all the time.

The same sort of thing can be also true for many other things, 
like for example politics, jobs and, yes, sex...
