Our roads are a complete mess of potholes for months. Really bad.

My partners charity has no option but to lay folk off because of past 
gov. meddling (insisting on certain criteria for funding status that 
created financial loss), funding being pledged, then never appearing and 
the latest is significant funding cuts for doing the work the gov. is 
claiming it is doing via the mouths of party politicians (about 30-40% 
cuts). I mean, there are departments of people getting paid more than my 
partner employed just to say no to a funding bid less than half her salary.

I guess that's what playing the game of war does to a countries wealth.
