How it works, is alleged copyright holders e.g. big music or film corp.
send your ISP details of their claim and the ISP is supposed to send you
a letter, or email, warning you this is the first strike. If the buggers
send your ISP another accusation, you will be sent another, more sternly
worded letter, or email. On the third time, you are supposed to be cut
off the internet and branded unsuitable for any ISP to give you service.

At no stage is there any mechanism to defend yourself, whether you are
the proprietor of an internet coffee shop, or a disabled grandmother
with a live-in son who likes listening to music whilst emptying the
colostomy bags.

Abuse item no. 1 is that corporations do get it wrong, or the body they
issue with the serving of these notices is performance based. Lo and
behold you have corruption akimbo and the poor targeted on a mass witch
hunt.

In reality, many of the ISP's are already saying they will not be
cutting anyone off without a direct court/magistrate order, because it
is simply dumb business sense to incriminate your customers on the here
say of a third party who has no god given right to spy on your
activities either in the first place, let alone a court order allowing
them to do so.

Blatant criminal activity used to incriminate people without recourse is
a crap law to pass. Even the police are not allowed to do sh1t like that
to catch mass murderers.

So now 'pirates' are worse than career criminals or mass murderers?
More important a threat to humanity to require changes in law?

It would seem so...

I just laugh it all off and ignore such nonsense for the nonsense it is.
