RME Fireface 400. excellent sound, great drivers (for Mac Snow Leopard you need the June 10th update, there has been an issue for the past few months with Snow Leopard). I heard the windows driver was always working.

only thing I don't like about it: channel 7/8 are output using the (non balanced) headphone output. Sucks when you are doing 8-channel live stuff in a theater with lots of light (and dimmerpacks, that should actually be called humming-packs...)
