Well about a year and change after being released I turned on my unit to realize that the memory was wiped. Later found out via forums that there was a design issue where the internal battery only lasts about a year and a half. In the first couple hundred units you have to solder the battery...(later units had a battery holder inside) From what I remember FR did not even so much as admit this was a design "flaw." They later came out with the rev2 who's battery lasts 10 years and have the nerve to actually tout it as a feature...
Now I understand they are a very small shop, but I think it was kind of a screw over to their early adopter customers. They could of at least given us some kind of special discount to fix these units. Or at least an apology!
Though I have heard of a similar story with some of the early voyager units, design issues (that they fixed in later units) where they just said to customers it was not a design flaw, it was the best they could do at the time.
