I quite love the sound of theremin in weird contexts .. like sci fi  
movies, the Beach Boys hits, and so on .. but I'm with you on the  
annoying factor.  It seems that its a very difficult instrument to  
voice properly in a song without it taking over the whole sphere.   
Still, I'm always happy to hear it being played even if it gets on my  
nerves, since it does represent a bit of outside-box thinking on the  
part of the musician.  And it is very difficult to play properly after  
all ..
