Ubuntu studio audio problem

As a long time MOTU user I have to agree with you. If any company would
offer a comparable product (both price and features) to the MOTU audio
interfaces I would drop them in a heart beat. Their support has not only
been poor and neglectful, it has been downright hostile. My mortal sin in
the eyes of MOTU is that I am a PC user instead of Mac and therefore below
contempt and priority for their organization. What is truly bizarre, is
that last time I talked to them, *most* of their users were PC users and not
Mac. Amazing but true, they hate their major customer base. I do like
their MIDI interfaces but miss the Opcode days. If you purchase MOTU and
are on the PC, expect to be alone in a lifeboat. I do have to say though,
when everything works, it works amazingly well - just be prepared to do an
enormous amount of research before any sort of hardware up system upgrade to
avoid the MOTU salute (finger pointing at everything in the world except
themselves). Their blame laying is not unlike a petulant three old child
caught in a lie.

The horror stories I've heard/read about MOTU, that have been consistent
over the years, tells me that this is not a company I should give my
money to, as cool as their products may be.
