Yes, Kemper bought Access fully in 2002/2003 and in fact Access ceased to be operated as a business unit, but is a brand property owned by Kemper Digital now.  I thought it sucked at the time, but it seems to have been sorted out for them.

I was there during the startup of the guitar project, and I sure hope a lot of progress has been made since then, because it didn't start out so great.  No doubt they've thrown a lot of talent and time at the product though, so I'll be very interested to see the reviews next month.  It's not my sort of thing, but I love the lunchbox form factor and the user interface seems interesting .. Wonder if it's another Hartmann design.
