16x8 buttons

I was looking for something as well, and unless you DIY, you are out of luck
(unless you rolling in cash).

I have been seriously eyeing a livid ohm 64 but I am hesitant as I would
want to try one first.

No, a day of searching didn't come up with anything.  I realised on

You're right about the launchpad buttons, they're very squidgy.  I'm
not using it for very much where the timing matters fortunately.  For
the money I'm happy.
