This may well be on interest to a lot of people here. I subscribe to the Fairlight Yahoo group and this has popped up.

>From Peter "Father of the Fairlight" Vogel himself:

" As a little sideline, we've been developing 'cmiPhone' and 'cmiPad' apps.

These are not intended to compete with a real CMI, but to give the 'flavour'
of the old girl.

This app is nearing completion and we are seeking a small number of people
to participate in beta testing.

That is, we would like a select group to try out the new apps, give us your
comments and report bugs.

To participate, you will need to own an iPhone and/or iPad.

If you would like to take part, please send an email
admin at fairlightinstruments.com.au briefly stating why you'd like to
participate.

Testing will commence within the next week and continue until launch in
January 2011.

As numbers are limited, we cannot accept all applicants.

Cheers,

Peter Vogel"

And from Peter Wielk (peter.wielk at fairlightinstruments.com.au)

"It will have the entire IIX rev 1.3 sound library, a goodly proportion of which is available straight away, with the rest being "unlockable". The sounds (and demo sequences) were gotten direct from the original floppies, so no stupid conversions.. It sounds great

Page R is running well, and everything looks very, very nice.

The "Pièce de résistance" is page D. Not only does it look fabulous, you can change the viewing angle(s) by tilting the iPhone (my idea!).."

I might get an iPhone/iPad just for this!

Cheers

Chris
