Please recommend: free recording software on Mac

I have not used reaper on a mac, but for PC recording, its been great.
 I created a tracking template, and was able to record our bands soon
to be released EP with a minimum of fuss (we are tracking at home,
mixing in a studio).  You can use the demo free perpetually and its
fully functional.  I have a paid licens of it now.
