Hard question, you really need to look at them as 2 very different  
pieces of gear, even though they are in the sorta same category. What  
role are you looking for one of them to fill? What is the sound you  
are looking for? and how do you want to use it in your music? Maschine  
is really a kick ass MPC that integrates fully into your daw, but like  
an MPC it will only give out what you put into it, it's a tool. The MD  
is an instrument.

not forgetting about the dramatic difference in price :) if you have  
the coin to drop on a MDUW you should get both,
