sounds to me like you need to map the output of a compressor which is  
set up to  'trap' the r's and g's to the input of an EQ going to  
another copy of the track, so you can sort of automate rounding-out  
the R's and G's instead of having to edit them .. in REAPER you can do  
this with side-chain plugins on multiple copies of the audio track,  
but i don't have it in front of me and can't tell you the details  
right now ..
