Honestly, Tony, you're just as bad as the starry-eyed devotees who pray 
five times a day in the direction of Cupertino. I've got the distinct 
impression that you're envying the Slate because It's Not An Apple Product.

There are no product reviews; there isn't even a product yet. It might 
be a total dud. They need some extra product of theirs to make up for 
what appears to be insufficient support for multi-touch/tablet devices 
in Windows 7. So does that mean that every manufacturer will have its 
own extension?

It might be cool, it might not be, but for now it mostly is unproven.
