I don't think I'd get a fixed gear bike because I tweak and maintain 
bikes I own a lot. It would only be a matter of time before I lost an 
appendage or got some nasty injury from the chain. Dérailleur and 
freewheel/coast saves a lot of trousers and fingertips!
