Got an AKG D5 vocal mic and a Behringer MIC200 preamp and although quite 
a cheap combo, a quick pre-test and the MIC200 is quiet, flexible and 
easy to use. Both for less than £100! The MIC200 looks useful to try 
plugging nearly everything in to for recording or live, but I got it for 
the mic..

I won't link to info on the AKG D5, 'cos it's just a sturdy, half decent 
vocal mic, innit? ;)
