They sound different depending on what you play on them :)

They're not bad. I fiddled with wadding, over did it, muffled, took some 
out, just a few little bits of foam on the opposite faces of the driver.
The port works, improving bass, but not too much.
Kicks and most bass are just there, everything else too. Very low bass 
is a distorted flump though. I could try shoving that little hamster toy 
into the ports. Pure science ;)

I guess any decent sized solid wood box is going to kick a light plastic 
PC speaker cabinet for 6 ;)

The amp board needs to run in a lot. I subbed in some polyprop caps and 
some Elna Silmic II's here and there. They don't sound quite right just 
now. But caps burning in (or supposedly) is another tale of woe and loss...
