Free update for all iPhone users

Highlights: cut & paste, MMS, push notification, turn-by-turn
navigation apps now allowed, bluetooth API, proximity sensor API
(theremin app, anyone?), Peer to Peer (basically, phones can talk to
each other, and to accessories by bluetooth, so you can have
multiplayer games on multiple phones/ipod touches), landscape mode for
all Apple apps (mail, notepad, etc), in-app purchases through the
iTunes store (so you can sell a cheap game then offer bonus levels for
another payment without leaving the game), a voice notes feature,
stereo bluetooth heaphone support (but not for 1st gen iPhone due to
hardware limitations), 1,000+ other new APIs, global search screen,
ability to mail multiple photos in 1 go, etc.... oh and tethering
support is in the OS, but it won't be turned on until negotiations
with phone carriers are sorted out.

Basically, it's the whole wishlist, except for Java, Flash and video
camera functionality.

devs get it today (if their server can take the hammering, it's
struggling to serve the 'come back later' page atm), users get it in
Summer.
