No, and that could well be the source of the problem.  The MIDI controller
in question has its own USB connection, and I have a hell of a lot of USB
MIDI devices hooked up.  using the MIDI outputs on the controller and
hooking to a different set of MIDI IO has been something Ive been meaning to
try.
