i just got some bog-standard usb-midi cables in the mail, which are  
actually nice to have and just plain work.  a nanokey is somewhere in  
the post too, which i'm going to have around for smaller, lighter  
jams.  going to have a puredata+nanokey+faderfox shoulder bag.. with  
as few wires as necessary.
