I quite like Netbeans as an IDE, and nowadays you can do C and C++ too, 
and even PHP and Ruby. Just make sure you have a lot of memory (2 GB is 
recommended, if you do heavy Java stuff), because it's Java-based and 
not particularly frugal with memory.
