I'm a C64 'kid'.
Had one from age 12 years until about 19, believe it or not.
In those 7 years it got expanded to a midi sequencer with basic (2-OP I 
think) FM and SID synth with keys and other bits. It seldom crashed and 
worked good for what it was. Oh and the games may look crap by today's 
standards, but combined with the SID, the ones that had good gameplay 
are still good today. The music of the SID, I believe, was very 
influential and it still keeps coming back.

There is a reverberation of wasted months of constant SID game music...
