The SSD you shouldn't get from Apple. They might be using a non-Intel,
where Intel's are far superior to the rest. (Good) SSD is very nice,
poor SSD is often slower than a regular hard drive after some time.
Also know that SSDs are not that much faster in transfer speeds. They
mainly shine in acccess time. In short: Very nice for databases, less
impressive for Photoshop.
Having at least 4 gigs makes sense. The CPU upgrade from 2.8->3 is
something I don't think you would notice at all. I never encounter
that my 2.3GHz CPU is holding me back, just my 3 gigs of RAM. 8 gigs
is currently too expensive and is something which is probably cheap 'n
easy to upgrade 2 years from now.
Best bang for the buck is the 15" model with perhaps only the 500GB
(5400RPM) upgrade (1734€). If you start going further with upgrades,
just go directly to the 17" (no upgrades, 2299€). Not so much heavier
and bulkier than a 15", but a much nicer bigger screen.
Both match great with the new 24" Apple screen. Dell currently has no
decent screens out (the 2405/2407 were great, the 2408 sucks).
Oh, also get the Apple bluetooth keyboard, it's lovely :)
