I gave up trying to be the musician long ago when I realized how much
time I spent with each sound. Anyone using a modern DAW will have to
program something period so another piece of gear to dial through some
menus won't make a difference.
I imagine being in front of a control console for some mission
critical scenario as opposed to being in front of thousands of people
playing music anyway. But that's just me :)
