I don't see the point of converting back to 230 volts AC. How many 
appliances need that voltage these days? Lighting will happily work on 
12 volts, as will your computer. Not sure about LCD or plasma TVs and 
monitors, but even fridges and washing machine motors could work on 12 
volts. If it's enough to start a car, it's enough to do your laundry.
