Yeah, it's funny he feels like he's got to justify himself so much. Looks
pretty good generally (i just skimmed it really fast). The table you mention
seems very close to what I was mentioning indeed. All trackers might
implement that kind of behavior differently along the same principle. Again,
it's not a SID/C64 feature, it's a feature from the controller program :)
