Hey Chris,
I will take some pictures this evening. The space is not good for
adding anything new but for my current setup it is neat and works very
well.
Regards,
Declan.

Declan,
Do you have a picture of your studio so we can see the space issues?
A high shelf perhaps?
Cheers
Chris

I'm just thinking out loud at this stage but here is what I have in
mind......
I have a Yamaha W5 synthesizer in storage at home and I can't help feel
it is being wasted. I will probably never sell it because there is some
sentimental value attached to it, it belonged to an old friend that
committed suicide a number of years ago. Anyway, it is way too big to
fit in with my current setup and I even considered doing some DIY on it
to make it smaller but my DIY skills let me down on that before I even
started and even then there is no room for it. So, what I might do in
order to re-introduce it back into my setup is to neatly punch a hole in
the wall next to my desk, on the other side is a built in wardrobe, and
place the W5 in an upright position against the wall. The power, audio
and midi cables can be passed through the hole and I can create a
controller interface for it using SynthEdit or something similar.
In theory this sounds like a simple task. I don't imagine it will
generate a lot of heat and it will never be powered on when I am not
there but I will have to test that out. The other obstacle of sorts is
the controller interface and how much control do I want and what are the
limitations of the SynthEdit software. And of course I will not be
punching any holes in the wall until I get the interface working as
expected. Is there anything else I should consider?
Regards,
Declan.
