Interesting. How much of that do you think was down to the room? At my 
previous place, I generally heard much too little bass, so I tended to 
mix bass way too loud until my ears were "calibrated" to the situation. 
Now with a somewhat bigger studio and some acoustic treatment, I feel 
they suit me fine again with just the right level of bass.
