I'd be really careful about this. I just sold a 2408mkIII recently that I
had upgraded to the PCI Express with the original PCI card. I told the guy
who bought it at the time that I had upgraded the card and so he wouldn't be
able to. He was only interested in running PCI so no big deal. I heard
about a month later he was trying to get a PCI Express card from MOTU and
they wouldn't budge. He ended up having to purchase a used one on ebay.

interesting...though I cant find a vendor that sells only the card
(though I honestly have not looked that hard). I will have to look
