okay, so i got synthpond as well, and its beautiful. just random
clicking around and there's an ambient sequence playing, ready for
another voice to be layered on top.
i can imagine a whole row of iphones, some running rjdj, some running
noise.io and apps like synthpond, maybe a minisynth in there two, and
one running beatmaker. the output of synthpond is going into an rjdj
instance, minisynth is routed through noisefx, etc. a full-blown
'modular studio' rig out of a few iphones ..
while i have always been 'anti software' in the plugins/DAW front, the
integration and ease-of-use factor of iphone music-making apps,
coupled with multi-touch and *finally* some decent interface design
mechanics (noise.io is, for example, very fun to play with, GUI-wise)
is pushing it more and more into my face. as i watch the daily
released iphone apps list grow and grow (yesterday there were *500*
new releases), i see that this is, indeed, a pretty viable platform.
i think its time to set up that modular system .. off to see what it'd
cost.
(anyone gotten MrMr set up yet? thats the next challenge, maybe i'll
rig up the 19" rack with an OSC server this week and give it all a go..)
