I remember flying to M at stock in 2003 when I spent the summer in Davis, 
California. It took me *ages* to get there, and it would have been 
faster if I had taken the plane for Zurich where I used to live at the 
time...

This also reminds me of how I explain the difference between the US and 
Europe:

In the US, 500 miles is neighborhood, and 100 years is history. In 
Europe, 500 years feels like yesterday, but 100 miles is far, FAR away...
